This low carb high protein meal hits the spot especially when asparagus are in season now ☀️
You’ll need one pan. 15 minutes.
The following 5 ingredients:
• 200 grams raw medium / large - shrimp / tiger prawns
• handful of cherry tomatoes
• 1/2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
• 3 rashers of streaky bacon
• a few asparagus spears
—
1. Add 1/2 the oil to pan and cook the tomatoes for a few minutes whilst you prepare the asparagus wrapped bacon.
2. Grab 2-3 spears together. Starting from the base, wrap the bacon around going upwards to near top. Make sure it’s tight.
3. Once all asparagus are wrapped in bacon, add to the pan. Cook until the bacon is crisp on all sides approx 4 minutes.
4. Give the tomatoes are move around then push to one side.
5. Next add the remaining oil to pan.
6. Add the shrimp and cook 2-3 minutes per side until it changes colour to a deep pink golden colour then turn over and repeat.
6. Turn off the heat. Eat straight off the pan to save washing up or plate up. Serve with some fresh basil over the tomatoes. Season with sea salt and fresh lemon or lime juice. Bon appetite.

Getting sentimental... summer has flown by and now I only have 3 weeks until my senior year of college starts 😅 In other news (pretending like that’s not happening.... ) I tried my hand at a new almond flour pancake recipe this morning, so hopefully you guys like it! #dEATS 👉🏻 1/2 cup of almond flour, 1 egg, 2 tbs of almond milk, 1 tbs of coconut oil, 1/2 tsp of organic vanilla extract, chocolate chips & 1 tsp of cinnamon! Mix the batter well with a whisk or spoon & make on a non-stick/ coated pan. Flip like normal pancakes! Happy Sunday babes 💕😘

🔥ANKLE AND HIP MOBILITY 🔥 Having proper mobility technique is crucial when its leg day. Especially when performing squats and lunges. For me, ankle mobility is the basis of the squat. Lack of ankle mobility can cause compensations throughout the entire body and is associated with several lower body injuries. (Trust me I learned my lesson). Also, lack of hip flexibility is probably the most common problem that prevents people from squatting properly. There are several stretching exercises that you can do to improve hip flexibility before starting your leg workout. Always remember to stretch your hip flexors and perform ankle mobility exercises then warm up and jump into your workout. -

Vegan meatloaf inspired by a recipe from @veganricha. It was absolutely delicious, topped with a vegan mushroom sauce. I’ll definitely be making this again!
Sauce
90g sliced button mushrooms
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tbsp margarine
2 tbsp plain flour
Almond milk
Salt and pepper
Sauté the garlic and mushrooms in the marg, sprinkle on the flour and stir. Once the flour has coated the mushrooms, add the milk in small increments until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. Season to taste.

Whoever says a salad should only be a vehicle for raw vegetables is terribly wrong, cooked vegetable can add extra filling fiber and nutrition...equally wrong is the person that says you shouldn’t/can’t have some pizza on the side of your salad, when you eat intuitively and within medical feasibility (portion/ingredient control) you’ll know that no food is off the table...AND thirdly wrong is whoever said that plant proteins hinder the absorption of certain nutrients when in FACT they are rich in the very nutrients that certain fads say they block 😅 this one kills me as a dietitian. When you are in a rested state your body into the #parasympathetic state, which is a state of lowered cortisol. When cortisol is high, you’re in a stressed state which takes away energy from your body for normal functions like digestion or hormone regulation. So do yourself a favor, and stop working today. Eat your leftovers. Sweep and clean tomorrow. Take a nap. Spend sometime reading Scripture and praying and in fellowship with others in order to bring your body the health it needs. #sabbath

Chargrilled chicken satay burger. Warm satay sauce, garlic mayo, rocket, onions and relish, served with sweet potato fries and the legendary baconnaise. Why GBK don't sell this stuff by the bucket I don't know, I can't get enough of it.

A catch up with my best friend usually ends in a trip to GBK. He will almost always have the one with pesto and I always want this. I've tried others but this one is my fav, the satay sauce just makes it.

Today's one came with an excessive amount of rocket, a good 70% of which was removed. I'm all for some of it, but you can't be taking the spotlight off the satay sauce you know.
